Dick married Winnie Forkin whose parents (Biddy Deignan and Jim Forkin) lived on the 'old street' in Islandmore. She was known as Winnie Navvie (pronounced Whiney Navvie !). Dick and Winnie had children :-

• Bea who married Jim (Pat Michael) Forkin from the last house in Dernabruck.
• Mary Ann who married Pake (Pincher) Finn from the Finn village in Ballahere. They had children :-

  • Nora, whose married name is Hadfield
  • Josephine
  Pake and Mary Ann emigrated to England in 1963. Pake died in 2001 and Mary Ann in 2003.

• Tom who inherited the home farm.

Jim Towey was the son of Aine & Anthony from Cloonmeen. He and Winnie married in 1940. Details of their family are on Jim's page.

Maggie Shiel came from Carrantample. She and Mick lived on the home farm and had children Pat, Winifred and Mary.

Mary Kate (Tom Jack) Finn came from Slievemore. Her parents were Tom (Jack) Finn and Mary (Brackley) Phillips. Her sister Bridie is married to John McCann in Chicago. She has a brother Johnnie. Her brother Michael died of a brain haemorrage on December 25th 1938 aged 7.

Jim died possibly in Australia.
